Dri-Karere Ran recorded the songs on Yokwe Dri-Majel in 1983. the band was formed by three Marshallese musicians and two Peace Corps Volunteers who were also musicians. The music is a hybrid of Polynesian, folk and rock, created with vocals, acoustic guitars, an electric piano, and bongos.
